Inspire Enrich Take Control

"They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." Jeremiah 17:8 (New Living Translation 2007)

As nurturers, women are always doing things for others. We are constantly taking care of our husbands, kids and parents. We join committees at church, sororities and other community-based organizations. We do all of this while holding a job. We are so accustomed to doing for everyone else that we don't think about letting the work bother us. Well, it's time that we take a step back and re-fuel ourselves so that our leaves can stay green!

If you are looking to nourish your mind, body and soul, we invite you to attend Nu Iota Omega Chapter's women-inspired summit on Saturday, September 14, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sheraton Orlando Downtown Hotel. A full buffet breakfast will be served to get your body and mind prepared to receive a wealth of information about enriching yourself.

The summit will connect you with experts who will show you how to achieve your goals and rejuvenate yourself. This expert panel moderated by Star 94.5 FM radio personality Monica May, will include a life coach who will help you organize and relieve stress, an expert on building your "brand" and taking a leadership approach in your life, a member of a running group that focuses on teaching women to become healthier, a political mover from the League of Women Voters to discuss the importance of voicing your opinions through your vote.

In addition to the expert panelists, Kellie Wells, an American track and field athlete who won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2012 London Games, will be the keynote speaker discussing how she overcame challenges and obstacles in her life to become an Olympic medalist.

The following women are experts in their fields and are in the business of helping others.

  • Michelle Fillmore – Lead Ambassador for Central Florida Black Girls Run Chapter
  • Denise Mose, Ph.D. – Entrepreneur, Author, Beauty Connoisseur
  • Cheryl McDuffie James – Managing Director, Business Imaging
  • Carol Davis – Second Vice President, League of Women Voters
  • Kaye-Ann Taylor, Ed.D., RD, LDN – Owner, Nutrition & Exercise “Works”
